  • A couple of moorings on the Port Henry dock covered with a light dusting of morning snow. The snow would quickly build up, obscuring the view of the Bridge by 8:30.
  • Plant matter and rocks encased in ice built up slowly from the water spray from Lake Champlain then frozen where it lands.
  • A fixture in Moriah, this church is easy to pick out from the background of buildings in Port Henry.
  • A view of Port Henry in Moriah from the end of the Port Henry dock just before it opened to the public.
  • The name of the game on demolition morning was fog and snow, which obscured most views of the bridge. <br />

The name is a reference to a certain meme from my college newspaper years.
  • A barge leaves it's dock in Port Henry and heads off into the fog across Lake Champlain toward the Champlain Bridge. Ripples are seen in the water as a light wind quickly brought the fog in, obscuring the view of the bridge. Light speckles of snow can be seen falling through the picture.
  • The Port Henry Fire Department brings their equipment on scene in the event of an emergency, here parked on the Port Henry dock next to a caution tape.
  • Taken two hours before the demolition of the Champlain Bridge, a toy constructon vehicle sits crushed and stepped on in the snow on the Port Henry dock.
  • This meta-photo was taken with my cell phone, showing how I protected my lens and camera from the elements. I used two gallon-size storage bags to cover the majority of the lens and camera body, cutting a small hole in the bottom of on bag and securing it to the end of my lens with tape, then using the second bag to extend over the body and securing it with tape as well. I could lift the opening of the rear bag when I needed to see to take shots or review images. Meanwhile, keeping the camera pointed down and lens hood attached kept the exposed optics of my lens clean and free of water the whole morning.
  • A reporter from Capital News 9 in Albany stands and gives her report on the preparations for the demolition of the Champlain Bridge. By this time, however, the bridge was no longer visible in the background, replaced by a foggy backdrop under which cover it fell into the lake.
  • Only minutes before the implosion of the Champlain Bridge, children throw snowballs into Lake Champlain. The lake is slowly being covered with a layer of slush from falling snow that the lake is not warm enough to melt. There would be no relief for the public standing by to watch the bridge be demolished; the fog did not relent, and the landmark was demolished suddenly as a series of sharp, muffled booms resounded across the lake.
